Water polo

A growing passion

Water polo at Selborne has grown immensely over the last few years. Today, Selborne can boast of almost 3 teams per age group of boys that are passionate about this fast pace, action filled sport. A dedicated coaching staff ensure that Selborne can hold its head high amongst competitors locally and nationally. Local games are held on Thursday afternoon in the summer months with many tournaments taking place over the weekend.

What is life without goals?

Tours

Due to insufficient local competition, our u13A and B teams participate in many high schools tournaments. The Jason Murray u14A, Sterrenberg u15B and the Peter Cuff u14A tournament to name but a few. The u13A team has two tours, first to the Grey Junior u13A festival at the end of the first term, and then again to the SACS Junior u13a festival at the beginning of the fourth term. This is a wonderful opportunity for our boys to test themselves against some of the best opposition from around the country. Our boys acquit themselves admirably and often end in the top positions in these tournaments.

Many of our boys represent Border at age group level with a few boys being selected in the national training squads for water polo.
